It's not only Jamie, who liked flying there.
Also Saras wrapup on Instagram gives a sweet flavour,
of how it felt to fly there.

Almost getting above launch height sounds sweet.

3 out of 3 days- taskable, flyable, soarable.
I’d say that’s the definition of a successful competition. And it’s what makes living 2 miles from the LZ so great- it’s soarable just about every day. Year ‘round.

For a local, yes, very much the definition of a successful comp. I could be projecting myself as the marketplace, but I would think that those traveling from +1000 miles away might want to get more than a little above launch height.
Everyone is different. Some folks really enjoy hugging terrain. Some like getting stratospheric and flying the sky. Both have their challenges.
Either way, very happy to hear another event there is in the works!!

Yes, hugging terrain can be quite a thrill.
Just wanted to clarify one thing (there are many that I could clarify as a few people read my article not in the way I intended):
"A fishbowl of frustration"
1) Yes, the tasks were the definition of fishbowl tasks going back and forth in front of the launch.
2) The definition of frustration that I was using:
"the prevention of the progress, success, or fulfillment of something."
https://www.bing.com/search?form=MOZSBR ... rustration
The pilots were frustrated on the last two days because they were not successful in fulfilling the goals as set out in the competition each day.
Now, whether they "felt" frustrated or not is something that I didn't address, because I was not there and do not know how pilots felt. I can speculate that some might have felt frustrated but I didn't do that.
