Sorry, I like reading the Ozreport even if polarizing headlines may occur.
But this one made me ROTFL,
because it's so obviously plain wrong.
Of course with a few checks in the calendar for comp events you don't get in the air much. But with a little bit of flexibility, the last weeks have been high noon for free flieht.
The german HG league over the Easter holidays got three 1000 pt days in four days of flying.
Currently they are at the Kandel, Black Forest with one scored day in the box and three more ahead.

Jochen Zeischka flew a record from his home ground Beauraing in Belgium deep into France.
Paragliders cracked 400 km.
The dhv-xc.de had several hammer days with piles of 200 km flights.

The easy yearly course for a mid European is still valid:
Apr May Jun at home or the Alps, location wheather pending.
Jul Aug Switzerland or Southern France
and for the remaining months, when the thermals get a bit numb, think about going abroad.
Maybe even Texas or Arizona.
