It's called a "run" out landing for a reason&acirc;&euro;&brvbar; try to outrun the glider.<br/> What you're doing I call the "woah nellie!" landing.<br/> As soon as your feet hit the ground, you're slowing your run and using your body weight to slow the glider. This puts the glider slightly ahead of you. If it gets any more ahead of you, you're going to whack.<br/> <br/> So, instead, as your feet start hitting the ground, RUN&acirc;&euro;&brvbar; and try to speed up.<br/> Now, once your feet are on the ground, the glider unloads. An unloaded glider (one that's not carrying your weight) stalls at a slower speed&acirc;&euro;&brvbar; which means it flies at a slower speed&acirc;&euro;&brvbar; so slow that sucker down!<br/> Once your feet are on the ground, start pushing up harder&acirc;&euro;&brvbar; keep pushing up more and more and more.. faster and faster and faster. Turn that thing into a billboard behind you. You will NOT be able to outrun it&acirc;&euro;&brvbar; but try. Make it stop you.<br/> <br/> Also, since the glider is not slightly in front of you, you'll actually be able to push UP instead of out.<br/> It'll make a huge difference.<br/> <br/> Don't be surprised when your glider comes down on it's keel and turns into a huge airbrake&acirc;&euro;&brvbar; this is correct.<br/> <B>THIS</B> technique, a proper run out landing, will prepare you for a full flare landing.</QUOTE> _____________________<br/> <br/> Another good (continuation) article here: <B><URL url="http://ozreport.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27086">Steve Pearson on landings</URL></B></r> {/XML} in /home/davisstraub/public_html/davisstraub/OZ/forum/vendor/s9e/text-formatter/src/Renderer.php:48 Stack trace: #0 /home/davisstraub/public_html/davisstraub/OZ/forum/vendor/s9e/text-formatter/src/Renderers/PHP.php(303): s9e\TextFormatter\Renderer->loadXML('<r>See further ...') #1 /home/davisstraub/public_html/davisstraub/OZ/forum/vendor/s9e/text-formatter/src/Renderer.php(78): s9e\TextFormatter\Renderers\PHP->renderRichText('<r>See further ...') #2 /home/davisstraub/public_html/davisstraub/OZ/forum/phpbb/textformatter/s9e/renderer.php(250): s9e\TextFormatter\Renderer->render('<r>See further ...') #3 /home/davisstraub/public_html/davisstraub/OZ/forum/includes/functions_content.php(600): phpbb\textformatter\s9e\renderer->render('<r>See further ...') #4 /home/davisstraub/public_html/davisstraub/OZ/forum/viewtopic.php(1800): generate_text_for_display('<r>See further ...', '35a6ss', '', 2, true) #5 {main} thrown in /home/davisstraub/public_html/davisstraub/OZ/forum/vendor/s9e/text-formatter/src/Renderer.php on line 48
