I don't think any of my answers to that Fai-webpoll were too enlightening 8)

Take the time?

You know, I've been working longer hours with the other workers, we all but finished off the Macadamia harvesting on the owners farms. This morning is typical. Out of bed at 5.45,dressed,news tv on,breaky. Smoko and lunch made -as I'm out the door at 6.45 and looking where I kicked off my boots yesterday arvo, I hear the steady rain. So I paused, stood still for ages listening, poked my head back in the door. Said "that's steady rain" to my wife, also ready to go to her work and because Libby knows me well replied, "why don't you have a mental health day?".

Now, here in Oz you get 20 and 5 paid holiday and sick days respectively every year and they also accrue if you don't use them every year (of course most western countries also get maternity and carers paid leave etc too)
I'm owed many weeks sick leave and upon stepping back outside, again I stood still, listening to the rain and looking at the full firewood barrow-which won't be needed soon-

I visualised, relaxing on the recliner,in front of the fire, snoozing off listening to the rain-yep-I really need a mental health day! So kiss my thoughtful wife goodbye and soon with the new kitten contentedly purring alongside,I'm finally relaxed.

Thinking about how important our mental state is, I often repeat this to whoever will listen-- " Everybody needs a joy, something you do that bring you a genuine smile. Everything else goes away, its only fun and contentment for you.
It doesn't have to be an extreme sport-walking the dog at the beach or reading a book or a vegie garden-I guess its something different for each of us.
I sincerely hope all the readers here, whether I've locked horns with or not can enjoy the time out we all need to appreciate our fellow humans on this shared planet..

Those look like interesting rides-I reckon I could tag along-if I had an electric bike! I guess you do the trails with a few mates?

Nope. I'm alone. On the ride linked to above I had my wife drive me to the top of the hill before Horseshoe Bend (a small town). I normally just ride my bike from our spot at the Boise River RV Park to the trails or roads, but I wanted to check out this section of a proposed ride before I did a complete loop.

This route, after a long downhill on a paved road that is not maintained, was mostly gravel (which is why I wanted to check it out on my gravel bike) and there were very few cars as there is a paved road on the north side of the Payette river that I followed.

I often ride the Ridge to Rivers trails above Boise taking a mountain bike or take the back roads on my gravel or road bikes.

On this ride I found and passed HSB, which is the local paragliding business, about a mile and a half outside Horseshoe Bend. I knew it was near the town, but did not know it was on the Old Emmett road.

Lots of climbing, which I like since I redid the drive trains on a couple of my bikes. Vast empty areas of canyons, hills and grass lands along the river.

Belinda was envious and I said we should get her an electric bike so that she could come along (she regularly rides her Rocky Mountain Soul to yoga and back - 10 miles).

nothing !

If social security is not a retirement plan ( yes it also is a safety net for others) why does the government bother sending me paperwork showing how much I have earned each year and paid in?
