Calculating Weak Link strengths

What is the rule of thumb for calculating what strength of weak link I should be using ?
weight of glider+harness+pilot+ (margin?)

I went to the flying site and dropped in to see dustdevil, shame the weather wan't upto much.

Great guys and they made nice harnesses.

I was at St. Auban 2 weeks back and saw the Grand Prix format for gliding. Flying the dunes near Amsterdam in Holland can be "interesting" sometimes as lots of couples take to the dunes for trysts in the sand and part of the route crosses a extensive nudist beach. Its difficult to know where to look sometimes and the launch can be tricky due to the amount of slip...
